Excellent. Good to see they're still supporting. Gotta love how it took Zopo 20 days to post the firmware though.

RE: New official rom from Zopo - The187Hitman - 2013-06-29

wait whats this? 4.2.2 ?

RE: New official rom from Zopo - GizBeat - 2013-06-29

It's 4.2.1

RE: New official rom from Zopo - MaxP101 - 2013-06-29

It's 4.2.1, some differences:
  • Tweaked brightness levels, a bit more reactive.
  • Screen is brighter when connected to power, but this could've already been there in previous releases.
  • The GPS is wonderful, got a fix within seconds in the middle of my house!:

  • Some engineering features are enabled and some loggers are enabled after booting, but stop after a few minutes with a popup asking if you want to restart them.
Possibly some other stuff too, maybe I'll notice something after a litlle while.

I just test the rom and it runs perfectly for the light sensor. However, it will be malfunction again if I install the TWRP recover.

Any idea?

RE: New official rom from Zopo - MaxP101 - 2013-06-29

The screen flashes every time the gpu is used for 2d rendering, enabling and disabling this feature in developers options doesn't work.
And auto brightness seems to be stuck at a single level after a while.

This is just some forgotten engineering build, they should disable all engineering features, find a way to keep auto brightness alive and use the gps fix they applied here.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Flashing red border. Especially in Chrome. To my knowledge, it's not 2d GPU rendering that causes it. This is a form of 'Strict' developer mode, which flashes to show when an app is sticking in the main thread, but it's disabled in debugging, so it must be somehow permanently enabled in the framework or kernel.

I was having issues with System control of brightness until replacing the lk.bin with the stock lk.bin (previously I had flashed a modified version). I don't know if it was in spite of, or because of, but I then had system control of brightness, though auto-brightness is still useless.

I experienced no improvement in GPS. If anything, it was worse. Though I don't use AGPS when testing.
