[split] mt6572 problems 3g australia - davidzam - 2014-08-14 Hi I'm from South America, and I'm having a bit of a problem (big really) My smartphone is this: The people I bought it from, assured me that the phone cant take the 900 and 1900 bands and, on engineering mode this is what it shows: Everything, so far so good, but then there is this, They advertise this phone as an MTk6589 but mobile uncle and mtk tools show me otherwise: Ok, now I'm getting suspicious... so I go, to test it outside to see what I'm dealing whit, so I select the mode WCDMA only, and I got this in response... (all configurations check, he, the smartphone, even can take the right APNs automatically) BUT!!! : Luckily, some friends of mine, live really close to a cell station from my service provider... BUT... (caps are for myself... excuse me) The fact, signal is very very unstable... 3G signal cant stay put (it constantly changes from H to H+, on H doesn't navigate at all, but, on H+ navigates very well) Only Edge is detected everywhere, but, on random places, it captures the very unstable 3G signal, and then, goes back to Edge... (This is the best service provider on my country 3G and 3G+ signals are great, right now, as I'm writing this post, Im using my old but "goody" Sony Ericsson X10 mini as a hotspot with the very strong and fast H signal that I'm getting from the very very far away Cell Station) So reading on this Forum, I see that this is a very recurrent issue, even on the newest Mtk processors; I wonder, It is possible to test some basebands and modem.img files as in the post I quote earlier (for MTK6572 processor of course? Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Maybe provide me (and everyone in need, the basebands and img files? I could be wrong wrong (wrong in my assumptions and request) but i would like to see if its possible also to modify something in the firmware so the changes I make (If i succeed whit your help guys in this awesome and interesting community, in getting an stable 3G signal?) ... make those changes stick?, If I perform an hypothetical hard reset? I want to cook a Rom worthy of this devise, but I don't know how to code... But where there's a will, there's a way, right? So please help me... Thank you very much for reading my obnoxious rant. Sorry for my English, its not my native language. If there's any more information needed, please don't hesitate to ask... Ill provide all the info you need. RE: MTK6572 3G - davidzam - 2014-08-31 Jesus! Thanks guys for all your answers. Amazing. RE: MTK6572 3G - NexusTrix - 2014-08-31 You just resurrected an 8 month old thread. For something like this, start your own thread and you'd be more likely to get answers.. Its got nothing to do with mtk. You've been scammed. The short answer is this, the likelihood of a cheap mt6572 phone having 900mhz and 1900 wcdma is absolute nil. You catching 3g on occasion is possibly the 2100 catching very faint signals. |
