How to stock recovery and flash ROM Huawei G520? - blehblehbleh - 2014-04-09

I have a Huawei G520-5000 with a (MTK6589 chipset). Where could I find a stock recovery? I foolishly didn't back up and the custom CWM recovery I flashed doesn't seem to be working. More specifically, when I try to start in recovery mode, it just gets stuck on the boot screen then eventually just reboots. I tried flashing a different recovery but that just seemed to get stuck on the boot screen until the battery is removed.

Can you boot into recovery and try factory reset?
If that doesn't fix you, try to find stock ROM at needrom.com. Or at Huawei official site.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to boot into recovery so I'll try finding a stock ROM. How would I go about flashing it? With SP Flash Tool?

Since you can't get into recovery, then that's probably the only easy way.

I just grabbed the firmware off Huawei's site. How should I go about flashing it? I don't want to mess it up again.

So I extracted the recovery.img from the firmware update and was able to get back to stock recovery. So then I tried following the guide

to try and flash CWM but it just gets stuck at the boot logo. Any thoughts why this might be happening?
