RE: battery drain - NexusTrix - 2014-04-02

It depends what you're doing. Normally battery drain % over a small amount of time means virtually nothing. If you're doing something onscreen, 12%-25% per hour is standard for a 5” phone with 2000mA battery.

When sleeping, it will depend on the firmware. Some firmware will show very little or no battery drain, then when actually using it, it will SHOW it quickly draining, though in reality the % is just catching up to where it really should be.

There's only one real metric that matters for normal users...That is, how much onscreen time are you getting through a normal day. 15-24 hours. And depending on use, the duration will vary from user to user. For example, some people may mainly be concerned with how much onscreen through an 8 hour work day. Or people who don't use their phone much may be concerned with how long the phone lasts through 48 hours with little onscreen use.

Normally I use GSAM and Battery Spy, though they don't show from % point to % point like Drain Analyzer does. Drain Analyzer can be misleading though. What you're really looking for is averages and totals.
