Thl W200s - rossturv - 2014-03-12 Hi all, New to the forums and I am in the market for a new phone. I was browsing Aliexpress a while back for something else a came across the phones on there. Since then I have been doing some research into the china phone market as they seem to represent good value for money. I had pretty much settled on getting an iNew V3 but was a little worried about the battery problems some have reported. I then saw the Thl w200s and from what I can tell it seems like an even better deal than the iNew. A good reported battery life plus it's octo core. The only thing holding me back is the lack of information from people who actually own it. I want to know if there are any problems with the phone? Does the GPS work well and is the phone reception any good? (i'm in UK and plan to use o2 network) Any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers! Ross RE: Thl W200s - lookylooky - 2014-03-12 Hi and welcome to the forums. The THL W200S is a very nice phone for the price. I don't think you could go wrong with it. THL make good phones and are fairly popular so you should be able to find support for it fairly easily. As the phone was just released you might not find a lot of people with one to give you an opinion but I think Gizbeat was or still is playing with one. I'm sure he will jump in and give you his thoughts. RE: Thl W200s - GizBeat - 2014-03-12 We just had one of our users order 2 by DHL so should have a report back from them soon. So far the phone has been very good. GPS cold lock in <45 seconds. Battery life 6+ hours on screen. Android on this phone is very stable. Huge 32GB storage. The external speaker is loud and clear. We have more tests to do, but so far am very pleased with the phone. http://www.gizbeat.com/3427/thl-w200s-review-unboxing/ RE: Thl W200s - rossturv - 2014-03-13 Thanks for the advice guys and i've taken a leap of faith and got one on order! Will happily let you all know what I think about it when it arrives. RE: Thl W200s - pletko - 2014-03-15 @gizbeat is it really gorilla glass? RE: Thl W200s - GizBeat - 2014-03-15 I can't say for sure. THL generally doesn't exaggerate specs. Thanks in advance for your review. I'm considering this phone myself, so I'm stoked to see what you have to say. RE: Thl W200s - mvujnovicc - 2014-03-21 Good choice with the THL w200s, i have an inew v3 and i am very disappointed, the frequency band states that it will work with my network but unfortunately it does not. The only signal I get is EDGE (2G) which is a fall back band, no data what so ever. I heard a rumor that a few shipments were with the wrong bands, im still having a very difficult time talking to inewmobile and discussing the problem. They are asking for pictures and videos when its a band issue?... :/ im calling visa tomorrow to go the hard way of talking to an ENGLISH assistant so that visa can refund me for false advertising the bands. The Battery life is disgusting on EDGE imagine what itd be on 3G or 4G if they had it.. Also a big problem with the iNew V3 is that the home button is laggy, you might not notice it at first like me but when you want the see all the apps running in the background it wont load until you lock the screen, unlock it, press back repeatedly and then trying to hold the home button down. I just received my Vega Iron IM-A870L by Pantech, Highly suggest it! will post review on my older thread in this category. |
