Umi Max Smartphone Review - Helio P10, 3GB Ram, Android 6.0 - redskulll - 2016-09-23 Umi is yet another smartphone manufacturer from China. Unlike many other Chinese phones, UMI makes some very good looking phones for very low prices. A good example is the new UMI MAX. The phone is made out of aluminum and glass and it looks much more expensive than what it is. The 5.5" screen is covered by Gorilla Glass and it has a resolution of 1080P. The viewing angles are very good but the screen doesn't get that bright and it is difficult to see in bright daylight. Inside there is the Helio P10 Octa Core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and 3GB RAM. The internal storage isn't that great considering that we only get about 11GB free out of the 16GB that the phone comes with. That can be extended with an SD card because the phone runs Android 6.0. Umi Android 6.0 used in the UMI MAX is very close to stock Android without too many useless features. We do have the possibility of using either the on screen buttons or the hardware buttons and you can turn those on or off depending on your preferences. The 4000mAh battery will keep the phone going for 24h with about 5h of screen on time, so realistically more than most flagship devices. You can check out the exact times on the battery in the review video below. Even though the phone it's so cheap it even has a fingerprint scanner on the back that is very accurate and very fast. All you have to do is touch the sensor with the right finger and the phone will turn on. The cameras on the phone are the only things i didn't really like about the UMI MAX. The rear camera has a 13mp sensor and with appropriate light it can take some decent pictures. In low light it takes way too long to focus and the pictures don't turn out great. Feel free to check out some sample pictures in the review video below. Overall for the price the phone is great but it will really depend what matters the most for you.
