Bricked Doogee F5 - taklun - 2016-01-21

I just received my Doogee F5 and it is bricked from trying to root it using MushroomLT method. I got the following error [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] then after that my phone screen is just black and I cannot get SP Flash tools to recognise it anymore to reflash the stock rom. The phone seems to appear as "Unknown USB device" in device manager now too.

I have tried to use any different mediatek VCOM USB drivers to get it to be detected again but nothing has worked so far.

Anyone can help?
Thank you so much

Have you tried "format" option? Here are some things to try:

Different versions of SP flash tools
Different PC
Format (but you might lose nvram if you do this)

I use USBDeview to remove all none active devices and connect my Lenovo S6000 in preload to install drivers but still when I connect F5 I get "Unknown USB Device" in device manager.

I have also tried to do this on my laptop but still get "Unknown USB Device".

I presume I can't do anything in SP flash tools until I can get the device recognised?

You mean u got that error when you first flashed? I thought you meant you getting that error now.

Did you boot PC in driver signature enforcement disabled mode and install preloader drivers?

RE: Bricked Doogee F5 - taklun - 2016-01-21

Yes sorry I should have made that cleared. The message came up during first flash and now I cannot get the phone to be detected at all. Also I did disable driver signature enforcement before the first flash.

RE: Bricked Doogee F5 - modestMouse - 2016-01-21

And now you have disabled driver enforcement and reinstalled the preloader drivers (not adb drivers.... preloader drivers)?

RE: Bricked Doogee F5 - taklun - 2016-01-21

Yes, I have removed all previous drivers, as the phone was not being recognised anymore after the failed flash. Then I tried installing the Mediatek VCOM USB drivers manually, still not recognised. Removed those drivers, then tried various other VCOM USB drivers I found online in the hope they would work, removing them after each failed attempt.

Finally I tried removing all the drivers, connecting my Lenovo S6000 in preloader mode to get stock drivers. This still did not work. Then I also tried loading preloader files from yet another MT6582 phone I had GoFone 50x but still no luck.

Try these MTK preloader drivers.

RE: Bricked Doogee F5 - taklun - 2016-01-21

Ok I installed the drivers Sniper47 shared manually but they installed to the COM21 instead of COM20. So I connected the Lenovo S6000, then after the preload driver for that installed, I used the driver you shared to update it so that the preload driver would be on COM20. Was this the right thing to do?

Unfortunately now, the F5 is not responding at all when I connect it. Could this be because of the battery dying? I have plugged it into the charger now just in case then will try again later.

Thanks so much for all the replies so far btw!

RE: Bricked Doogee F5 - cookiedough - 2016-01-21

It shouldn't matter too much which COM they install to. At least, I've never had it matter. The system should detect the device and use the driver to connect it to the appropriate port.

Part of the problem might be the battery is enclosed. Last thing to try is open up the phone and disconnect battery for a second, then try the flash.
