[split] How to change model #? - SY37 - 2015-08-09 Hallo I have an MTK6732 (S6 clone) and i have this question if anyone knows : How can i modify the model number from SM-G9200 to SM-G920F. When i first have this phone in my hands i open it and ishow an app opend. Through this app you could choose witch model you wont to appear on your phone. By mistake i choose the first one and i close the application. But now i cant find this app. Does anyone knows anything about it? RE: [split] How to change model #? - cookiedough - 2015-08-09 You might be able to do it in build.prop. You must be rooted to edit build.prop. Typically its in /system. Change ro.product.model=**** and ro.product.manufacturer=**** Example: ro.product.model=SM-G9200 ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung Then clear Play and Play Services data and reboot. You can also try a factory reset and that should make the option come up again. RE: [split] How to change model #? - SY37 - 2015-08-09 Thanks but i try the factory reset and the app dosen' t came up. About the rooting this phone i reed that perhaps is imposible! RE: [split] How to change model #? - cookiedough - 2015-08-09 For MT6732, (if really MT6732, many clones fake their SoC) you will probably need custom recovery for your phone to root. That's the only way I know to do it... root an' change in build.prop. RE: [split] How to change model #? - SY37 - 2015-08-09 Ok thanks for your time!! RE: [split] How to change model #? - cookiedough - 2015-08-09 No problem. You can try to plug your phone into mtk droid tool and see if it tells you what real SOC is. RE: [split] How to change model #? - SY37 - 2015-08-10 I have allready done that and it shows me this soc (mtk 6732) Look i just download Mobileuncle MTK Tools and shows me these informations: Processor = AArch64 Processor rev 4 (aarch64) Hardware = MT6735P RE: [split] How to change model #? - cookiedough - 2015-08-10 If you have MT6735, try this apk to root mt6735 RE: [split] How to change model #? - SY37 - 2015-08-12 Thank you i just download it!
