to backup or not

been looking around the forum this morning and have found lots of advice conflicting advice and personal recommendations. so here goes my first question..
Q1 is it advisable to back up my phone

before i try to root it .
or do i root it then back up ..

im assuming the first but need a nudge in the right direction.

A backup is good to keep your never no when you need it

But all you have to do is download famaroot its a app the root your phone only works on 4.2

No, framaroot will not do a backup for you. Look in the root tools forum to find framaroot. If it doesn't work, try vroot as suggested in your other thread.

For backup tutorials, look in the tutorial section. Also, you can look on [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. If there's a stock ROM already there for your phone, you don't need to worry about a backup as much.

Framaroot is used for rooting, not for backup.

It is ALWAYS a good idea to backup your phone using the flashtools readback method before doing anything to your phone.
If you do this right from the start when you receive your phone, that is, before even configuring your phone (not needed for flashtools), you will have a full backup of your factory state phone, one that you can always use if ever you need to return your phone for warranty.

That same backup method should be used after you rooted your phone and before every attempt at flashing. If flashing fails you can always return to the previous state of your phone.
If your phone ever gets bricked, using the very first backup mentioned here, you can return to the stock state of your phone.
