have you guys been able to remove the chinese search bar and install a google search bar? i cant even uninstall the chinese one! help please

It is possible, you don't even need root.
Just disable all the Chinese apps and force quit the launcher.
When it restarted my search bar was normal.
I think the search bar is the pulid##_1.1.9.apk

The Google bar is already on your phone, but the chinese one overrides it. If you find a way to disable / remove the chinese app, you will automatically have the standard google one available!
