Similar sounding. Enough to confuse me anyways. Ulefone Super, Umi Future, right? ... Could go either way. You can choose one, which will it be.
These phones are a lot alike. So let us look at the similarities first
The similarities
System on Chip (SoC): MT6755 Helio P10
RAM: 4GB
ROM: 32GB
Android: 6.0 Marshy
USB: Type-C
Display: 5.5 inch 1080x1920 2.5D Gorilla 3
Selfie cam: 5 megapix
2G 3G 4G
What the specs say is that the Ulefone Future will have
2G: GSM 850/900/1800MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz
The Umi Super will have
2G: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz
Usually we don't see Umi with these USA frequencies, but this is the specs we know so far. Somehow they forgot to put 850GSM though. Or maybe it's a misprint which is not uncommon.
The Ulefone has 850, but is missing 1900GSM which is strange to see phones coming without all four bands on GSM, but there it is :/. Unless it's a misprint as we know is possible.
The Ulefone marking literature says it will be a bezel-less display which sounds great if it is really bezel-less.
Fingerprint ID
This is awesome that the Ulefone Future is having the finger sensor on the SIDE OF THE PHONE!!! WHUUUUUUUUT?! The Umi Super also has, but in back. Not a big deal. That's normal.
Camera
Also the Ulefone Future has 16 megapix back camera. This is said as "3P3" in the literature. I think probably S5K3P3. That is the same as Redmi Note 3 Pro. The Umi Super has a Panasonic camera, but there's not much about the quality of this camera yet.
Battery
Just when we think it's an easy decision (unless you're unlucky enough to be American ), the Umi Super pulls it's trick card from the sleeve!
Where the Umi Super ***appears*** to edge ahead (we'll take them at their word for purposes of choosing here) is with the battery, which is reported as a Sony 4000mAh. With Ulefone Future, the batter is reported as 3000mAh. In the past, both of these companies have been less than honest about battery capacity.
The Umi Super also claims to have a Sharp brand display, which is a very good name in displays. But the Ulefone Future claims to be bezel-less!
The Umi Super has a "smart-button" that can be used to trigger whatever app you choose. That is cool. Ulefone doesn't have it.
This is a tough decision... We will take both companies at their word. It would be easier if Ulefone Future had a 4000mAh. :/
Which would you choose and why?!
