Regarding root, you can flash [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] through recovery, or check out [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] thread. Either should do the work.

It's possibly the very first firmware ever "released". It sure is before 1.0.1, maybe even before 1.0.0 some are having. Don't let number versioning deceive you

Thanks for your replies. Someone in other forums says that vroot works well for root. But I'm afraid to brick becouse it's not so clear which are the official ROM versions and the related history log, so there could be different ways of rooting according to the ROM installed.
Now there's also a new team who is developing alternative firmwares for the V3, it's called smartdigi developers, it could be useful...
Anyway, with my configuration, I've no problem with the battery, wifi or something else; there are only some little bugs.
If you want, I could post my ROM, even if someone could tell me the way to backup it before.
Thank again !

Hi, I would suggest going an easier route. Just upgrade your firmware to the V3 Ultimate versions (either 1.03 or 1.04), this way you can have the CWM recovery as well as root already in place.
I've tried 1.0.6 yesterday, was so glad to get rid of it after a couple of hours.

Whaoo, cityfun, did you get rid of 1.0.6 ? Why ?!? I've noticed only few bugs, what do the 1.0.4 have more then mine ?

I'm just thinking that there are different hardware versions... Mine is V3-E, perhaps different from V3.
Probably this is the reason why I've not experienced any battery problem with 1.0.6 ROM.
