Hello everyone,
I am going to buy new phone and up until today I was thinking of buying THL T200C, but just now I noticed this beauty. Doogee has kitkat, is cheaper, larger capacity of battery but has 1 gig of ram and the screen size is smaller. So what I really want to find out is if 1 gig or RAM is enough for heavy android usage? By heavy i mean browsing (15-20 tabs at the same time), gaming, taking photos and so on... So any ideas? Thank you in advance!!!

Go for 2GB. I am also a heavy user and 1GB is nowhere near enough, even 3GB probly wouldn't be enough but would be nice, but since that's not really an option for china phones, 2GB is a bare minimum.

If you are switching a lot between tabs in short periods of time and don't want to wait for reloads, yes go for the 2GB.
If you have a lot of tabs open and are switching over long lengths of time, (eg, you have 10 tabs open and go back to them a couple hours later), it will make no difference - whether you have 1GB or 2GB or 500GB.
Regardless of RAM difference, I would still take the THL over Doogee. See @wuddawaste thread http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thr...d-opinions

Thank you for replies @Elusivo @Sniper47
Nah, I think that 2 GB of ram should be just enough... At least for the next few months
Yeah, I've seen that thread. But I am wondering is there any chance that THL will release KitKat for T200C? Or at least that mediatek will release their source so someone might be able to create custom rom?

My phone has 512MB ram, plus 500+ swap, plenty of ram for me, but the more one uses heavy apps and such the more ram that would be needed. I use 1GB on all my tablets, it's more than enough for gaming and such, but if you can afford to go with more ram, it won't hurt, however I doubt you would use the additional ram.
I run 8GB ram on my pc, well it's installed but has never been used, When I built my pc the ram was so cheap, I actually got a discount for buying more ram.

Well see how it is on my phone - 1GB of RAM and swap 800mb. After using a phone for about 30 minutes i checked how much of swap it was using and it was about 400MB plus 800MB of RAM... But the strange thing was that I did not feel any lags even though it was using this amount of swap file...
One more thing which is bothering about DOOGEE is that I have not seen even single review or unboxing about it...

Android is Linux meaning the way ram is used is different, free ram means wasted ram, ie ram not needed, in windows it means you have a memory leak, So android grabbing or using every drop of ram is ok, ie normal for Linux.
Of course Linux wont grab 8GB lol, I don't know anything about either phone, just about how android and Linux uses ram, and when people say 3GB or 4GB of ram, they don't realize they are just wasting money as android will never use that much ram.

Oh, then that totally makes sense! Anyway, gonna order now THL, as I was not able to find proper specifications of DOOGEE. And also, as I understand, it does not have NFC. Anyway, thanks for the help guys!
