Don't know why, the link is not working for me (I get: We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server). Did you link the program /system/appmover ?
Needs a rooted device and works at least for most Android 4.x.x (Lollipop not supported yet).

In the past I've used Titanium Backup to freeze or altogether remove system apps on a rooted phone.
