Hmm... Curious. Since your phone is otherwise working fine, it's unlikely to be an issue with it being "fake" Star S9500.
The 'other ROMs' you tried - they were from other S9500 copies? Or all for Star S9500? If all for Star S9500, forget what I said about trying other ROMs for other OEM copies.
It's possible a protected area of eMMC got wiped or corrupted during the flash. Maybe because of an incorrect scatter. It's also possible you have a unique revision of the phone with a different LCD as you suggested in your OP.
In MTK Droid Tools, you'll see where it says SOC/CPU it will tell you MT6589/MT6582 etc... If it's fake, it will tell you it's fake. But now that you said the phone is working fine other than LCD, it is likely not a faked SoC.
