Sony Smartband & iNew v3

Hey everyone,

I bought a Sony Smartband (SWR10) and tried to use it together with my iNew v3 (4.4.2 already installed for Bluetooth 4.0 LE support).

The iNew found the SWR10 and connected to it via Bluetooth but the Sony Smart Connect App, which you need to handle the Smart devices, did not install the respective SmartBand App and I was not able to controle the Smartband.

Has anyone experience in that and what I could have done wrong?

Have you found the solution in the meanwhile?

I'm thinking of buying some bluetooth heart rate monitor, but I'm not sure which ones are supported,as all of them require BLE (Bluetooth 4.0) and from the various specs on the V3 over the internet, I'm not sure it even has the Bluetooth 4.0 chip inside...


Does anybody know for sure what bluetooth version is supported on V3?

I bought a MiBand and it works perfectly.

The Sony band seemed to have a problem with my device, but as the MiBand works I assume, that the built in chip is actually a Bluetooth 4.0 one

That's good news. The official site states it version 2.0, and on couple of places I fond information that it's 4.0, and nowhere could I find the confirmation that somebody is actually using some sort of fitness equipment with it.

Big brand (Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.) accessories rarely play well with Chinese phones. If you have or plan to buy a Chinese phone like iNew, I'd recommend accessories made for such phones like the Elephone W1, MiBand, etc.

Have you attempted installing the needed apps manually?

Its just like how many had a problem using samsung gear watches on non samsung phones. they had to sideload apps manually by finding the needed apk files and installing then allowing the non samsungs to control certain aspects of the watch.
