its a complex topic so i cant answer simply.
best to learn how to do a backup first. for one reason or a thousand, having a bootable android is better than bricked.
there are two tools you should familiarise yourself with, SP Flash Tool and MTK Droid Tool.
it would help if you shared with us what files you have been sent, what experience you have. maybe even what game or applications you are trying to operate.
things that might help, reflashing (properly, practice first), virus scans, google play updates.
other thoughts, stability can be various things, software, battery voltage regulation, heat, connectors and wear and tear, memory card or slot, alot of these have fake memory which could present the problem of memory space issues.
