Did you flash gapps by chance? Kuro was having the same issue.
Strange. Mine shows as 8MP only if preview size is standard(4:3). It will becoming 6MP when preview changed to full screen.
Is that with this ROM?
Just tested it and he is right. Switching the preview to 4:3 gives back the option to take 8mp photos. i guess the Sensor is 4:3, so when using it in 16:9 it has to crop part of the photo, limiting you to 6mp
