TRY AT OWN RISK
vroot is normally an exe for Windows users as per link
http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thread-Tool-VROOT-China-clone-MTK6592-MTK6582-MTK6589-MTK6577-MTK6575-MTK6572
However it is also available as an APK.
I did have a English version but I think the Chinese version is better.
download link is

1) Allow wifi on please
2) system settings -> security -> tick box to allow unknown sources (for install)
3) use file manager to navigate to downloads and click on APK file
4) install it
5) after a little while....a pop up box will ask if you wish to accept update
6) Accept update as it turns CN into mainly English
7) it searches to see if root is already installed
8) if offers a sad face icon if root not found
9) you then click on the root button....a green colour
10) icon changes into a pirate and attempts to root
11) if success you need to reboot
#########
Does not work for all devices and has less "database" than Windows version
It says try the windows version but alas i won't.
Why try it then?
No need for Windows drivers or software.
Most likely will work for common non-KitKat Android versions.
good luck
