iNew V3 battery problems

Very weird thing happend last night/this morning. Yesterday I normally used my iNew v3. At the end of the night it had 24% juice left. I went to bed and put my phone on the charger. Then I noticed that is was charging extremely fast. Within an hour I checked my phone and it was already over 91% percent charged and it was still counting. At 100% (a couple of minutes later) I unplugged the charger, just to be safe.

The next morning 94% of juice was left. Then I used the phone to 88%. Then I tested the phone charging again by plugging it in, using the wall charger. After a couple of minutes 80% juice is left.

At that point I installed Greenify Donation and Xposed Framework. Just to try to save more battery by using some experimental features in which push notifcations will pop-up when app is hibernated.

After that I powered down the phone and put it again on the wall charger. Just 15 minutes later I powered on the phone and only 47% juice was left (while charging). After that I plugged in the phone into my notebook and while I am writing this post (+/- 15min) the phone seems to charge normally 52% at this moment.

So what do you people think what is going on? Is my wall charger gone crazy and is set into reverse (draining instead of charging)?

I will try out some other wall chargers I have, and in the meantime I am really looking forward to a reply :-).

When I using my old HTC Desire Charger it seems to be working fine. Maybe I have dropped my iNew charger and it's got broken.

Just had same problem yesterday. A day before y yesterday my phone charged up from 15% - 100% in just 20min. Then yesterdayI was using my phone from 76% (one day of normal use) up and until 55% juice. And then out of nothing it went off...I put it on the charger and battery level was 23%. In a couple off seconds the battery level was decreasing while charging very rapidly. I pulled out the charger from the wall power socket and put it in again. At that moment everything was fine again. So I confused the following:

1. Maybe I need to calibrate the battery or wipe it's statistics. Does anyone have some info on this. I do have a CWM based recovery.

2. Maybe I first need to connect the phone to the charger before plugging it in the power socket. Does anyone have this same issue?

3. Maybe I need another new battery.

Hope someone can help me out.

I just hope the battery is not actually 1610mAh, since charging "stops" at 88%
But even in the phone, the battery is sooner or later charged at full, right?
I don't care if I have to wait a little bit longer, but I don't feel like pulling out the battery at the end of each day.

Hi, I have a STAR N9800 with MTK6592 (rooted but still on original build). I also have a 'failing' battery problem. I notice the original 3300mAh battery has become a little 'fat', and am not sure if this was it's former state or not, but it sometimes seems to me that it pushes out of it's recess and might be disconnecting from the pins. I've ordered two more and intend to rotate them after throwing away the original.

Also, the phone regularly stops at 89% unless I leave it on charge for more hours and then it shows 100%. Soon after removing from charge and with just about everything off other than installed mobile services ex WiFi (checked by looking at battery usage in Settings/Device/Battery) the power drops disproportionately and the phone can cut out at anywhere from 80% to 70% or about 54%. This can happen in only a few tens of minutes. It won't complete a reboot until it's back on charge. I've used an app called BatteryCalibration but this doesn't seem to have helped. I'm lucky if I can get an hour of use before the battery indicates any of the above % readings (roughly) and cuts out.

I'll let you know how I get on with the new batteries.

Hi, just and update on my previous. Maybe it will help somebody .... STAR N9800 battery problem.

I received my two new batteries today. Just looking at them shows that my old original battery had indeed 'bloated', become fat hence pushing out of its niche in the back of the phone.

Anyway once a new battery was inserted into my phone work the power indications appear to be normal again. Faulty original battery or poor charging regime of me the owner? I don't know. Previously my phone had been left charging overnight then started showing crazy power levels (up one minute down the next) and the phone would switch off repeatedly even when showing 'high' power. Now all's fine.
