That's probably because you are not registered with the message board you are trying to download the file from. Come on, at least make some effort
Anyway, someone made you guys a giant favor and uploaded a folder with all the necessary stuff, including a ROM for this device, which they created in accordance with my instruction, using their own device.
There is at least one guy, who flashed this ROM and got his phone unbricked - in fact, he is the one, who messed it up with an OTA update.
And it will work for the rest of you, too - another dude, who had his preloader formatted, recovered it with my preloader.bin, and is about to flash above ROM soon, and I can foresee no problems with that.
So what the sequence of actions?
1. Install recovery: oukiK4000recovery.zip from recovery menu from sd card?
2. From new, custom recovery install backup - file: TWRP.rar
?

Well I see you are getting help @ another forum. Anyway... The sequence of actions is
1. Read all there is to read about flashing phones via SP Flash Tool;
2. Download and unpack the firmware (I've provided the link above);
3. Follow any instruction on flashing the firmware (this will do for example, except you will be checking all the boxes, except for preloader)
If your phone shows logo when turned on, your preloader is probably fine and it's better not to fiddle with it. You do not need TWRP at all to recover your bricked phone.

The devil is in details... It is tricky to boot oukitel in preloader mode.
For all who don't know how to do it:
1. remove battery
2. wait few seconds
3. insert usb cable into computer
4. insert usb cable into oukitel
6. insert battery while holding VOLUME+
6. when computer detect phone and you hear beep you should let go VOLUME+ button
7. your phone should have black/turned off screen and in device manager you should see MT9xxxxx preloader* and install drivers.
You will probably need to take few tries to boot in preloader mode. Just sesne the moment of letting go VOLUME+ button,
I've tried all ways, but id does not work for me.. not sure why.
I try method 1, using update.zip. If i do it via Wireless update, phone reboot, say installing update, finishes, but when is back i have no root access. (at least root checker says so)
I also trued to do it via recovery menu, but when doing that after i select the zip file i get a message that say "Installation aborted"
Not sure if this is important, but i used the wireless update to update the system. I did a factory reset from recovery menu, and tried again, but still not work. From what i can see, the factory reset did not returned the old system back, just wiped data.
I am familiar with digital forensics, if I make sure that the U10 memory locations for the items below are correct and update the scatter file to reflect the U10 then would it root the phone.
