I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9006 (Clone) and I have been trying to figure out how to use an image of my own as the wall paper.
When I select "live Wallpaper" the selected image has to be cropped which means I can't use the whole image and this is what I want to do. So can someone show me how to use the full image and now have to crop it?
Thank you.

Hi
before you try to do a live (animated) I suggest you create a static first
bonus....static does not drain the battery as fast.
The more action in your live....the more likely it will drain
2) get your resolution from an app

3) copy your image onto PC and rescale it
I use Linux and use mtpaint but I am sure you can find a suitable app for Windows
then copy it back but put it in your internal storage so your lancher can more easlily find it

It will depend on the resolution of your phone and if you want the wallpaper to slide or remain still as the homescreens slide across. It may also depend on the launcher you're using.
There are several tools for getting it the proper size on the Google shop

For live wallpaper, try this app

Thank you for your reply, but this did not work I had done this before and when I select "set wallpaper" then "Gallery" then the image that I have resized using Photoshop right away the croping box comes up for the to crop the image even though it is the exact size as the screen's resolution.
What I think I may have to do is change the size to a smaller screen and see if that will work.

I am aware of apps that can do this for me but I do not want to go that route just yet. That is my last resort if I can't figure it out any other way.
Making the image smaller did not work either, now my next thought is to place the image I intend to use directly in the wallpaper directory of the android device and see if that works. Do you know what is the path to that directory?

Why would you not want to us an app to do it?
Just placing images in a directory is unlikely to work and if it did, it will crop/zoom to fit the screen anyways, unless it is the perfect size or ratio, which will depend on display resolution and if you want it static or slide.
Regardless, as far as i know, wallpaper images become part of wallpaper.apk data, it's not just a directory you paste images into. After selecting the image and setting the crop, it becomes part of wallpaper.apk data/cache.
10x easier to just use the app to make it the correct size.

Thank you for your response, I have used apps to do my wallpaper before and it worked very will. I don't have anything against using apps it's just that I would like to know if it is possible and if it is how to do it that is all. I don't always like to take the easy way out. Thank you

I understand that completely. In this situation though, using an app to do it is the best solution, unless you set the image size to the perfect resolution for your phone.
As far as I know, the wallpaper data is kept in wallpaper.apk data, so you'd still need to select the image as wallpaper. Might as well let the 3rd party app resize to the correct proportions and density first.

I can see now that this is not a easy task and probably best to use a 3rd party app to accomplish the task. I do not mind getting the image converted to the correct specifications as that is easy for me to do the part part is getting into the .apk that contains the wallpapers. Thank you

You can try
data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper
And
/system/app/launcher2.apk/res/
I really don't see the point to this though, I mean, I understand not always wanting to do it the easy way... With some things ....but not this.. Unless you wanted to copy a bunch of them at one time so you didn't need to set them all manually.

I just want to see if it is possible my friend, and if I can do it myself that is all.
Also those paths that you provided aren't on my device when I try to find them using Root File manager.
data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper
And
/system/app/launcher2.apk/res/
