[Question] Does someone sell hardbricked phone or front glass ?
#11
That IS dirt cheap !
But the problem is: my inner LCD & my Touchpanel is fine, i need the outer glass !
Thats what i cannot get and IF i would get it its 5 star hard to make use of it.
The glass is glued to the touchpanel on the whole surface.
If i remove my broken glass and then remove the glue (with solvent) i COULD simply put the glass on there.
But as there is a VERY small distance between the touchpanel & the glass there would be several places (including the place where i touch the glass) where Newton rings show up.
And as i don't have a vaccum glueing facility at hand (and no suitable glue) thats not good :-)
And to build up a side wall with 6 layers of double sided adhesive (conservative guess) would be an awful job and the glass would stick out 1,5 mm or so...
NOT GOOD.

So please correct me if i am wrong, but my shopping list looks like that:
-Glass : $20 (NOT AVAILABLE)
-GLUE: $1
-Vacuum glueing machin: $1 Bazillion

OR

just spend $20 and have a lot of work and a crappy looking phone --> this is where i was with that fine crack without spending $$$

Please tell me i am right and those $25 do not include the pre-glued glass ( i am 99% sure of that ).
If i am NOT right:

WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME BEFORE Crazy

The touchscreen and glass are usually one piece I believe. It's the touchscreen/glass and the LCD that are glued together.

I'm not sure if you bought both the LCD and touchscreen, if they'd come factory glued together or not.

If not, perhaps you're better off, because bonding the two together is a pain. Depends on budget I suppose.

Here's the $25 method, or $60 method if not wanting to go through the first part of chipping the glass away from the LCD. (if they didn't come factory glued together from Sunsky). This isn't exactly the same, but it's similar.

Hi !
I looked at the vid and browsed the net...
(because it is not unlikely that i will break a front glass soooner or later, happened to me 2 times already).
--> the lcd & touchscreen & glass are three separate parts it seems.
And for the i6000 the glass is not available as a spare part right now :-(
(it should look much different then the parts that your link shows as it also covers the buttons etc.)
I asked for the glass at that website (just curiousity).

And if you do the glueing like its shown on the video it is 100% sure that you will find specs buried between glass & touchscreen later on :-(
You need a vaccuum chamber an manipulators to do it right.

I am very picky abouth the screen and cannot stand dust or dead pixels or stuff like that.
Many others would have coped with the crack at is was not visible if looking at 90 degree angle.
But i am a "eye-person" :-)

So i am quite happy with my exchanged screen like it is...

But nevertheless very interesting video !
Thanks,

Ender

With OGS tech, the touch tech is either manufactured as part of the front glass or as part of the LCD. Usually it's as part of the front glass. I suppose it's possible a seller would sell the glass or digitizer as a single part, but it's highly unlikely, as it would be entirely useless, because it's impossible to integrate the digitizer into the glass yourself.

It's interesting though, this link [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]&p=7 says the iNew i6000 isn't OGS. But Many sellers sell it as OGS. So not sure what the real story is.

Yes, no one likes dust. But if one's extremely careful, it can be done without any noticeable dust. By doing it in a hooded box.

Still, the route you took was likely the easiest and best option if you've got the budget for it.

Dear all,
I'm a great reader of this forum and after a week i've read this post...i've broken my glass ..
So my first step will be to find a glass with pre-glued touch and lcd and If i find it i go to change.
do you have a guide to disassambly the Phone? I've tried to do it but i'm stopped after i've unscrewed alla visibile screws on the back...thank you for all informations!

Hi Tr1sk3ll !
Its quite easy to disassemble the phone as far as I had to do it (well at least compared to others).
But its a problem getting the glass I asked iNew & Firefly and some parts Dealers who carries the Touchscreen and LCD --> Nothing. Inew say "we put it up on the website soon" but if you investigate thats the answer for all spare part questions since month...
The glue:
Dont be tricked into buying the glue for $40 or so (e.g. the youtube video from this thread). Its easily available for $10 - $20, but buy enough ml to do the job (5-6 ?!) !
BUT i'd say its impossible to apply it without having some debris or dust specs buried in between the layers and thats not acceptable for me, so apart from not *getting* the glass i went another route by buying a complete unit from a defective phone...

Dissasebling until motherboard layer:
------------------------Disassembling iNew i6000 / Firefly V65------------------------
After you unscrewed all visible screws (about 14 ?!) AND removing SIM & micro SD card you can pretty easy open the back jacket which carries the battery etc..
When the screws are un-tightened, carefully from the front, with the help of your nails, detach the plastic frame (which holds the glass screen) from the screen by inserting your nails between the screen and the frame and push it back a little..you'll hear a clicking sound, in the same way move your nail around the complete glass screen perimeter and this procedure will separate the screen and the circuits from the plastic jacket..
Now you'll have remove the metallic shielding tape carefully which covers the microprocessor and other circuitry... (Take care with not ripping the camera LED flash, its just slightly glued to the tape).
You have to remove front & back camera (simply unplug their connectors and then they are loose. There are also 2 flat connectors for the various buttons, OPEN their connectors (the small from the front, the larger from the back) and you can remove the flat connectors without force.
Then you can unplug the LCD connector, unplug the SIM / microSD board and after that unplug the two button connectors.

Then you can see all 4 motherboard screws, unscrew them and you can remove the Motherboard without problems.
Thats as far as my work went as i exchanged the Motherboard and put it all together.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So IF you get a front glass, please share with us where you got it.
I do not know how much your phone is damaged. Mine was "only" damaged cosmetically, the crack is nearly invisible if you looked at an 90degree angle on it. and you could hardly feel the crack with your fingertip.
But as i am such a visual person i have a zero tolerance against cracks / scratches/ dust / dead pixels / whatever....

Of course i can send you my unit if you want it and if you feel that yours is damaged much more. If interestet lets PM for hires photos and negotiations....

Greetings,

Ender

Thx ender! Your guide is very exhaustive and clear.I think to follow your procedure end with lucky, find a hardbricked phone.i've broken only the glass and the phone works well. Like you i don't like see any scratch also because my inew have only 3 weeks of life. If I have any information about someone that sell preglued screen I tell you.
Greetings,
Tr1sk3ll

Hello, my glass is not exactly crashed but touch bottons and the lowest part of the screen doesn't work, may I look for a New Screen?

Hi Tr1sk3ll & frogi95...
Yes, the problem really is getting new parts.
The link that Giz posted get you a new LCD and/or a new touchscreen but i am 99% sure that there is NO frontglass included.
AND of course its a horrible lot of work that could end up with one of the new components broken or with a screen that has bubbles and/or dust inside.

I asked iNew & FireFly for spare parts but i did not even get an answer.
IF one of you guys succeed in sourcing spare parts PLEASE let us all know.
Of course you could also ask the spare parts dealer, i did that but also got no answer :-(

GOOD LUCK !!!!

I got a phone with defective Motherboard fo $160 (includes shipment & customs) from "a country far far away" and so i created a PERFECT phone from these 2 phones !
Thats not really "for free" but cheaper then a new i6000...

Anyone wants to BUY a i600 with crakced screen AND defective Motherboard :-P

No but seriously: of course i got spare parts like front & rear cam, SIM Slot board, casing parts and ... and ...

Just let me know if you need stuff !

Ender

Hi
Do you still have the spare parts for inew i6000?
Mine has stoped charging, the micro usb is broken and can't be repaired.
It must be changed(all the cirquit that holds the micro usb and other things at the bottom of the phone..)
