another thing that happens is new members.....and dare i say existing members tend to click on the quote box....without thinking of the effects.

this box is second from the lower right

2) this often leads to members having to scroll thru lots of useless junk that have already read. Its really annoying on a mobile device.

If someone asks you a specific question or you want to quote one or more sentences of a large post........please consider doing a specific quote.

that is right.....you manually type quote and /quote with [ ] enclosing them

Method 2

for a right handed mouse user,
click where you want to insert a quote box
---->quote in box appears
copy and paste from above...... some text
click on the quote box again
------> quote end box appears
