Finally after 7 hours of uploading / downloading / Combo testing, I believe it's ready to go. 8PM and Gizbeat still hasn't had breakfast.
Because the thread text was copied over from the TWRP ROM thread, the thread date shows 1 APR. Actually posted 4/6.
Boot logo no longer fades to black!
Auto-brightness patch
HDR camera working
3GB Data partition
Clean
Root
The ROM is nearly flawless and I've found now bugs so far. Would be nice if we had TWRP, but that may have to come later.
For now it's choose between a non-scary boot sequence and CWM, or TWRP and a terrifying boot logo
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Hi Gizbeat,
this morning I was a little bit angry bcause Ihave no acces to your thread "CWM Gizbeat Ultimate Combo ROM - 4.2.1 / 3GB / Root / HDR / Boot Fix". Can You please give me access to this threat. I'm using a former version of this ROM and I've the problem with bootanimation and I'm also not able to change bootanimation. Is it normal that on systempatition there's no free space? Hopefully You have some information for me.

Sure ahorntaler, I'll take some time and explain and try to help with your questions regarding the ROM. Don't be angry at Gizbeat. Gizbeat only wants people to participate.
Now I changed it to only 3 WORTHY posts. Post a picture from your phone, post a video you like, post a review about an app or game or donate $ to help with server costs, ask a question, post a review about the merchant you bought your phone from etc...
I didn't just set it up and leave it like many sites. I put in more than 200 hours the last 3 weeks testing ROMs, writing tutorials, helping people with questions and going through ungodly amounts of google translate to filter out the bull, along with all the normal stuff that goes with running a forum...So I think users can put in 20 minutes and/or donate a couple bucks.
In other words - contribute and help the site grow.
The new version of the ROM is CWM and boot animation is stock Android (just the word Android). But the scary black is gone. My choice is TWRP and scary black. But if you don't like scary black, this new CWM version recovery fixes that, but you still won't be able to change the boot animation. If you do manage to get it changed, please post a tutorial
Yes, it's normal to not have any internal storage with this ROM. Only 45mb or so. There's no need for the internal storage with Jelly Bean, but if you really want it, see the thread regarding data partitions.

Thanks for Your replie.
3 or 5 posts are no problem, but 100 posts are horrible. I'm working as a consultant and I have much other work to do. So many thanks for the reset to 3 posts.

Hi Gizbeat,
the problem with low partition space is that I wanted to try out if animation error is fixed by using annother bootanimation. When I looked into /system/media directory there was no file "bootanimation.zip" like in all other roms that I've seen before. I tried to insert a new one but I received a message that there's not enough space. Perhaps deodexing would be a solution.

That was an error. It was never supposed to be 100 posts.
Thanks for your posts, and thanks for thinking 3-5 posts isn't a problem. They're appreciated.
If you want internal storage, change the EBR1 and EBR2. Look at the 2.0GB and 2.5GB, or if you want 50/50, then use the EBRs from a stock ROM or post back here and I'll put them up.

The bootanimation.zip is stored on the data partition which will be 2.7GB with this ROM. I'll try and copy one there now and see if I get the same error.
Just copied a bootanimation.zip no problem to system/media. Are you sure it was the data partition and not the storage partition that you tried to copy it to?

Hi Gizbeat,
the path I copied it was /system/media. I didn't find any other path like this. I was using ES filemanager with root privileges.

1 - Did you mount file system as writable in ES?
2 - Have you tried wiping cache and dalvik cache from recovery? Are you using the latest version of the Combo ROM? (the other versions should be fine too, but this is all I have on the phone to test at the moment)
3 - What does System -> Storage say you have left on your data partition?
Also, good news. I just got a bootanimation.zip working with this new ROM.
