1) can you confirm that you seem to have got past the previous ZTE error or can't you tell?

2) thanks for the other info....I have been reading the upstream maintainer's page and there is a solution but....so far it looks like I can't see the correct
/dev device to specify for your internal sdcard....which is what the maintainer is calling it.

3) I assume your device is rooted?
don't forget to use the su command before the find command....giggles

4) I may need to ask for more info....I have kept your mounts photos etc but I never got your dumchar stuff

lets try to do it by adb?

I am just downloading a 205 row rom as informed on a different forum as he thinks the one I installed is not correct. It flashes by sp flash. He says it will sort the partition problem but I will have to test it once downloaded.

Drat....I started reading something and it turned into A850 and not S850....so much for translation

It installed ok and it even offered ota to latest but it still has nvram warning and wiped imei again so I think the only or main issue is the nvram. It is now not rooted and it has no custom recovery.

I thought you already had a method of installing a CWM or CTR using flashtools?
then use sideload to root
then use mobileuncle to fix IMEI

I think the nvram issue is deeper as once imei was restored it still had no mobile signal. The ctr2.img you gave me will not install with the scatter file from the new rom I have installed it just reports - Image recovery checksum failed. Checksum reference value (0x5c49) in config ini file. Please refil correct checksum values in ini and try again?

Can you link to post from Russia? that this is a S850 rest of world rom pls?

wholly heck batman I hope that is not a size hex value.....= 23625 bytes way too small for any custom recovery
6 Megs is 6144 kb = 6291456 bytes

looking at your old scatter file I notice the following

partition_index: SYS4
partition_name: NVRAM
file_name: NONE
is_download: false

why not ask Athos....reflash your new rom but edit scatter before flash to choose is_download:true for NVRAM?

It was IMHO set to false to protect a person with a working NVRAM but your old did not

aus9, I don't think NVRAM is flashed like the other parts of the ROM. Same with protect_s and protect_f, their files are written/defined on boot up?
Hmm, at least that's how I understand they work.

I cross checked against my stock ROM, it's the same. No NVRAM file to flash.

scatter file looks the same as the one from the russian ROM. And strangely, from your Droid Tools generated one.
That is odd, init isn't writing your radio files.
