ok your usbdeview gives confirmation of 17ef and your product is 1788

unfortunately I need images taken in landscape mode

better still can you upload them somewhere and link to them so i can download and expand to read them etc?

sorry about that.

plus I am not certain if removing fstab entries and tidying up init.rc in unpack is the solution.....will mount in recovery allow backup to backup to internal storage?

no I am referring to your snapshots that you took in portrait mode

they are missing bits

can you repeat the cat /proc/mounts command and photo it while in landscape mode pls?

2) I can report I have just done 2 tests
test one....insert usb OTG cable connected to an external normal fat32 usb stick
see if I can get CWM to recognise it as /sd-ext.....answer fail
test two....see if I can use my own internal storage for backup
---success and image of selections in CWM

LETS take a chance eh?

boot into recovery mode
choose backup
do not choose backup from top image but
----backup to internal storage

once action stops reboot phone and use phone manager to get into
/sdcard

2) thanks for the images I can see that /storage/sdcard0 seems to be your internal storage

3) if that works we will give you a zip file to install su but I am not sure what the result of your flashing is?

download zip and place into internal storage

in cwm backup I only have 3 choices which are backup, restore or advance restore. It gives no option to choose where to backup. Backup just starts and fails.

I have wifi but no imei's. Not sure its worth replacing imei if sd cant be mounted right? If i get cwm to read and flash I could install the latest official rom on needrom?

Sorry I do have mobile uncle installed, came with the rom already.

sorry for bad CWM.....what is the version number that shows on the screen the first time you load it pls?

download it and install to internal storage
I suggest you name it recovery-ram.zip

in CWM, choose install from zip
choose zip in internal storage
choose zip

it is likely to appear upside down but should offer backup to internal storage
----I have just confirmed it offers such

I will check cwm version in a moment. Not sure what you mean by internal storage as when plugged in pc it only comes up with phone storage not seperate like when you have an external sd card fitted.

When you check storage its all one storage with os occupying 2.64gb, 14.53gb total
