Is it that simple to install the rom?

I have a Galaxy s4 Gt-i9500 Clone MT6575 I managed to successfully root it and install CWM recovery on it whit the help of "MTKdroidTools" and this awesome forum . So my question is: is it possible now to install some custom roms like "cyanogenmod" for example which I hound on this site [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]? I am pretty new to this stuff so I would be really grateful if someone could tell me that this is safe to install and wont do some damage to my devise. Thank you!

Hello, Legisy! There are many others on this forum with much more Android experience than I have, but what I will suggest is to do your homework thoroughly prior to doing any ROM mods to the phone and make certain you have a verified backup (or multiple backups using various utilities) at the ready. Have a restore plan all worked out, just in case something does go wrong. It's always best to have a verified stock factory ROM for your model, if one is available. There are many good tutorials here, on XDA-Developers and many other Android based forums for guidance.
From what I've read on multiple forums, most people who flash custom Android ROMs do so without any permanent damage to their phone, and even if the phone won't boot initially, most times they are able to recover from it. Just realize you are taking a risk, and if you accept that risk, then go for it!
Hopefully you'll join in the majority of happy ROM modders.

Hello, thank you for your reply, pufferaway! : ) I will take your advise (I have no idea why I didn't think of that ) and make a backup in recovery mode to be safe, which I am doing it at this moment. And next I will try to install the ROM. I don't know should I write the results here what happens because I don't want to break the rules and spam this tried or something. And I am sorry for asking maybe a stupid question at firs but I didn't want to do anything I was not sure about.

The big problem with all these S4 clones is that there's just so many. Unless you've got a popular clone, it's very difficult to know which firmware is for your phone. If you're quite sure it's the proper firmware, then there's little to worry about. Regardless, as Pufferaway said, make sure you have a backup prior to flashing the new firmware.

On a side note, [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. The one you linked to is for genuine Samsung s4. Though MTK phones should soon start to see Cyanogenmod firmwares, since they went commercial and are trying to expand their user base.

I'm trying to say this as light as possible. Next purchase you make, try to make sure you buy a popular, well known China brand, so stock firmware will be easy to come by, you'll have lots of options for custom firmwares, support to patches, and access to replacement parts should you need them. I'm not trying to down you, just giving advice for your next China phone purchase. You and your questions, no matter how basic, are very welcome here. Thanks for posting.
