Help me pick a 250$ octacore
#11
It's not only about SoC. Huawei is sold retail internationally, so you could consider them a step up from THL. Also consider that the Huawei has 2GB of RAM. Generally tough to find good phones with 2GB RAM in the <$225 ballpark. I like the THL W200S LCD. It's bright and crisp enough, but I've heard (though haven't experienced) that the Huawei LCD is a step above THL W200S in terms of clarity.

Both companies make a good phone. I've been happy with what the THL W200S has shown me so far. Both in design and function.

There's no telling whether either phone will last 2 years. A new $800 Samsung could go to the crapper in a month.

Yes, but the 800$ Samsung bought locally has a warranty which will actually result in you receiving a new or repaired phone if it wasn't your fault. but this warranty has to be paid for ;)
with Huawei it's still possible since they are truly international and have a better understanding of "western" culture through that.
the THL warranty does not exist. period. it completely depends on the seller where you bought your phone unless you buy at THL store directly. that is a fact and a gamble you take when deciding for a cheaper alternative to "brand" sold locally.
there is no such thing as to get more for less.. you generally get what you pay for. chinese ppl dont give anything for free, just like you and me.
dont get me wrong - i would think that most chinese phones bought from westerners work fine, since most ppl only write about problems in the forums but you never hear about those 1000s others who are happy and enjoy their phones.
there is a high probability that nothing will go wrong and you will receive a well working phone but noone can guarantee you that.

The warranty exist. prchase from a reliable vendor and be willing to wait the shipping time and cost.

unlikely to receive better warranty treatment with that Huawei bought from overseas China shop than you would that thl.

you sure get more for less with China phone. Do you think that support and performance difference in a Samsung S4 is worth $400 more than your iNew V3?

in regard to single core performing better than quad-core in Android or even close to equal - remember, we're talking about all things equal, that means same exact core tech, but more cores - not differing core techs. and about Android, an OS which IS optimize to use multi-core, even if the apps aren't specifically designed to take advantage of multi-core individually.
