Greetings,
Would some kind soul help me in this actual frustrating scene:
1 - IF i press Settings in my Xiaomi Redmi note2, it dodges away and does not comply, except only after 3 or 4 insistences of mine;but...
2 - IF i select WIFI it shows me a tottaly blank page (??!);and...
3 - IF i try to access 'About phone', repeatedly, it freezes and shows me the "poetic" text that begins with «Unfortunately...bla,bla» and concludes to invite me to either Cancel or Report -- i've many times selected the latter option but, meanwhile, nothing happens.
Would you kindly advise what to do -- i will mostly appreciate your helping feedback.
Regards,
hene

Thank you kindly deanlee121 and GottaGetX, i will try again, once more, but now-a-days i shy away from flashing procedures, after more than a dozen attempts (i probably have a bugged device already...) which resulted interrupted and failed on account of: "unrecognized file signature" and/or ".zip file error", "update file corrupted" -- and once they were all downloaded items from seemingly adequate threads of mi.fora, thatś why i advance the hypothesis of having a a bugged from origin device or ended so aftyer one of my newbe's prior attempts...
However the present behaviour of my device is such, its erratic, uncalled for performances are so disturbing -- now if press Settings it jumps from the the home page up to the 3rd page of icons display and if i insist multiple times it changes and shows me a tottaly black screen that remains there unmovable until i reboot -- these disgusting scenes here described i believe are not only issued by the major calamity Android 5.0.x OS came to bestow on otherwise excellent smartphones, IMMO, if i ought to, they must be triggered by the finicky, user-enemy miaui launcher... These conditionings make me believe i'm pushed to try, once more 'with feeling' or not, to try and flash my X-thing.
I'm downloading, right now, the huge "developpers version" rom: miaui_HMNote2Global 5.12.24. xxx xxx.zip, will fill up my feeble courage level and essay to implemment later, even under the harsh feeling i'm going to turn my device in a overpriced neat papper--weight. Que sera, sera.. .
I've occupied too much space hereby thus i'll finish now -- leaving just an ultimate query: is it true that there's no need to root a Cianogenmod device, because thei're by nature open to accept the owner procedures in choice of apps to install and other customizing procedures? Which Cianogenmod version is adequate for Xiaomi Redmi Note2 ?
Thanks for your eventual patience.
Regards,
H

The CyanogenMod is generally rooted by default or can enable root through developer options.
The thing is, to get CM onto your phone, you'd need to flash a custom recovery anyways (CWM TWRP). If you do that, then you can very easily install root through the custom recovery regardless of the ROM you're on.
I would also do a factory reset and cache wipe before the install of the dev ROM. Hope this goes okay for you. If it still behaves the same way, I'd venture a guess that this is some hardware fault.

Thanks for your feedback Master Infinity,
As i stated before although i feel you might be right on your assumption about possible device fault (but not necessarily at the hardware level -- most probably at software level and i average: at MIAUI level:
In the urge of defending structural environmental responses the MiaUI Team most probably cooked hard contradictory measures against user-commands that change their own fixed "defaults" -- MIAUI launcher rather dies off than accepts compliance with User (even if Supersu) 'reversing' orders.
I do not know much but up to this line,i'm sure i'm correct! -- which is a sad minus Note, IMMO. Will try another (LAST) flashing operation with the large 'developper' Rom.
IF RED lighted again, then may have to proceed to CianogenMod 12.1...

H
