Good audio, big screen wanted. No1 or maybe Lenovo?

I'm looking for a mobile, that I can use on Australian networks, that has a good sized screen and good audio quality through either headphones or plugged into the classroom media systems at the school where I work. The inbuilt speakers are of little interest since they will probably only be used to listen to the cricket on rare occasions. The No1 Plus 1 seems a lot of phone for the money (about $160 delivered) but I can't find a review on it while other models in the range have been given both good and bad reviews. For no other reason than I use a Lenovo laptop I'd be interested in getting a Lenovo phone, but these seem a bit more expensive and gain get both good and not so good reviews while there also seems a more than average chance of getting a fake.
The phone I really like the look of is the Samsung Note 4, but this is big dollars.
Another feature I'd like is a good torch facility since the school does have snakes and I don;t want to stand on one going to my car in the dark! (I'm not joking)
Additional storage in the shape of a micro SD card or similar for my music collection would be great.

Dude. Australia is SO hardcore! You have snakes in your school and you have to use your cell phone to not step on them? Your everyday life sounds like an Indiana Jones adventure!

I haven't seen @Aus9 around these parts for a while, but he's familiar with both Chinese phones and Australian networks so I'm hoping he'll come chime in.

From what I gathered, it looks like GSM runs on 900/1800 MHz. 3G WCDMA is as follows: 900/2100 Optus; 850/2100 Telstra; 850/900/2100 Vodafone. Which carrier do you have?

To run on everything in Australia (not including LTE), it appears we're looking at GSM 900/1800, and 3G WCDMA 850/900/2100.

Pity, there used to be a marvelous photo of a python stretched across the top of three water bubblers at the school with it's tail hanging down on the ground. Shame it's been removed. Admittedly most of the snakes are harmless pythons, but there has been the odd poisonous black snake as well.
I like the 5.7" screen on the Samsung Note 4 and it's build so maybe I should just be looking at a Note 4 clone? There seem to be plenty of them so if I can find one with good audio as well that should suit well. Any standout contenders?

Forgot to answer this - currently with Telstra on a call only arrangement which I can easily let lapse. So the short answer is I'm not wedded to any plan at the moment.
