Fix for insufficient storage on device

I cannot install apps on my tablet (Alps F721) especially games or apps that offer in app purchases. I have a 16 Gig SD card .

I use Link2SD to move apps to the SD card. There is about 10 Gigs of space left on SD card, there is also a partition on the SD card that works as phone memory and it has about 2 Gigs left of space on it.

I have emptied the app cache on the tablet but this does not help. I cannot find a fix that work for me on the internet. Can someone please help with a fix.

The OS is Android 4.2.2. (MTK6572) I have been using Link2SD successfully for more than eight months now. The problem started in the past week. Some apps just disappeared like avast and then in the middle of updating fruit ninja, it showed the error 'insufficient storage avaiIable'.

From the factory it has 4GB of ROM and some of it is taken by the operating system. I do not know how to check what is left from that. And this is not partitioned. What is clearly shown by ES Explorer is the partition of the SD card. 2.5 Gigs of that is supposed to be used by the operating system and 13 Gigs of the is used to store apps and music and video. (about 10 Gigs of that is left)

All my downloaded apps I link and move to the SD card using Link2SD. There is about 22 apps now on my tablet after uninstalling those I do not use often.

Some of the advice from the internet has not worked. e.g. clearing apps cache, using Lucky Patcher option to delete app backups & updates (on my tablet Lucky Patcher does not give that option), deleting Google Play Services updates has not worked either.

Update:

Still no solution. I took out the SD card. The phone storage shows:
Total Space = 2.43 GB
Available Space = 2.05 GB

The Drive Space app says:
System = 630 MB Occupied 109 MB Free
External Storage = 391 MB Occupied 2.05 GB Free
Data = 391 MB Occupied 2.10 GB Free
SD Card = 391 MB 2.10GB Free

Can you make sense out of this information. It still looks like there is some space to install a 25 MB game to me.

Found a fix that worked for me. I have quoted it as it is from [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I installed Root Explorer to search for the files mentioned in the quoted post. Hope this helps someone.

this is a problem i encountered many times after (a while) i updated my phone to 4.2.2 (cannot install/update any app.apk file outside the playstore and there is this famous "Insufficient storage available" error which cant solved by wiping cache and dalvik cache).

And after some investigation i noticed that since android 4.2, google create a new lib folder for the apps in "/data called /data/app-lib/" and there is a symlink from "/data/data/APP-PATH/lib" to this folder which is the most culpable of this error.

So to avoid this kind of error:

1. go to "/data/app-lib/APP-PATH(that has this error)/lib" and delete.
2. install/update the apk app.
3. if not work go to "/data/app-lib/APP-PATH(that has this error)" and delete all the folder (but you must begin by their sub-folder then the folder itself, because you cant delete the folder of this APP-PATH directly without deleting their sub-folder first.

i hope, i helped some of you guys that you have this erroneous and overstressed error.
