You can find many ways if you are creative!
For example you can cut them by moving - bend them up and down or hit them,
or why don't you go and buy a tool?
A tool is always useful! You are not waste your money.
Or take the battery to an electronic workshop to de-solder the pins for you!
There are a lot of solutions and I am sure you can find one if you order it.

2Quad To shorten contacts you can use sandpaper (it is very cheap if you have no one). You could put paper on the table and move battery on it.
