Ants like to stay cool too. I put some ice in a bucket and some fell on the side. The ants went crazy and came running to the cool melted water.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

I was trying to get into my car, when I notice them on the top (of my car).
They let me get close to ~10-12cm for about 20 sec and I took over 20 pics getting closer and closer. Obviously, they were too busy to be obstructed!
This is cropped from a 13mp file but it is clear enough!

Sunset at Fraisthorpe beach, East Yorkshire. The objects on the shoreline are WW2 concrete machine gun bunkers built to defend the East coast against German invasion. Originally positioned on the cliff top but now stranded on the beach due to coastal erosion, the bunkers now host mussels, cockles and beards of green and brown seaweed. The tides have mined little pools around the concrete, providing habitats for small fish, crabs, shrimps and sea anemones. The photo was taken with a Samsung Galaxy Europa.
