Although I kinda of like the brochures and the looks of the Dg550 it is so thin and sleek but we will go with the mainstream S939 another 6inch phablet the A880/A889 was also 6inch phablet.
Did u know that doogee revised the rear camera from 13MP to 8MP?

They did?? So much for the hype behind the model. Lucky thing I decided to go with S939 at least it gives you what they said. I have an option to purchase an imported model (with all the chinese craps in it) or the from the local LENOVO outlet with GApps installed (I hope) and it better be a stable firmware or else we have to modify the firmware to AOSP compatible version with TWRP recovery (from Russia not the Chinese CWM)

Read a couple reviews, some people are getting the Doogee Dagger DG550, now, several vendors are shipping the phones out, I may end up getting one or more.

Just depends on the reseller, some are shipping now some aren't.

I shall be visiting this thread often since I am into the modification for the LENOVO s939 (same SoC and will be looking into a customs TWRP recovery for the LENOVO) but the LENOVO isnt as sexy as the DG550, I would have loved to buy the DG550 if not for the hiccup in firmware version (KitKat or JB??). and my partner in moding the firmware (from a Russian forum insist that we go for the S939).
Our target is to have a correctly prerooted firmware full AOSP (not the LENOVO rooted method cant update the su binary and SuperSU with no busybox).
but to get any MTK device to be temporary rooted before updating to SuperSU is by using vroot, I can vouch for this as my LENOVO cant be rooted by any other one-click-root (Shuame etc) but vroot took about 2 minutes to root it without breaking a sweat or other gymnastics.

Well first post here, like the site. Stumbled upon this site while getting lost in a vortex of looking for information on this phone and ended up buying it from Tmart. Looking forward to it getting here and putting it through some testing. This will be my first Doogee phone so I'm really interested in how it performs.

That was a very well done review and helped me make my decision to buy this phone. I hope that it lives up to the specs posted and works for a while.
