My phone is about to arrive, and I wanted to ask if someone here has already rooted it and which tool have you used?
I'm considering trying vroot or rootgenius.

First try with framaroot. If that doesn't succeed, then try vroot.

Hi, try framaroot first. Option 3. See the root tools forum here.

Downloaded Framaroot, but even with allow unknown sources the phone won't allow it to be installed.

Hi, try framaroot first. Option 3. See the root tools forum here.
So try the other 7 quick roots or build CWM and install root via recovery.

I clicked on the link in chinaphonearena newsletter that says this:
"ROOTING iNEW V8
Getting the iNew V8 rooted
@chinaphonearena.com
Several users have tried, but failed. Will the iNew V8 be broken? Gizbeat is guessing - no problem."
And I am directed here to this thread...
That is misleading... The newsletter infers there is a way to root and this thread is rhetoric... no real solution... Why point to this thread and not a real solution?
None exists??
Then why even bother with it in the newsletter? I mean there is a way to root this v4.4, and the only way IS a full build of CWM, then install superuser from MTKDroidTools, then reboot, then uninstall supersu, then reinstall from play store... Root!

@givesuhe11, I think the newsletter wanted to say that it is yet to be seen, thus Gizbeat's guessing, and posing the question/wonderment of whether the V8 will be broken.
As I understand it, Gizbeat has just received a V8, will probably test it for themselves, and post back here for a method.
I do not think the newsletter wanted to mislead anyone. I think it was meant to be a heads up to keep track of this thread.
That being said, I am glad you have found a way to root yours. And thank you for sharing the info with the community.
