Are you looking at your phone when you press the Root button on MTK Droid Tools? You should be getting a request from MTK Droid Tools for permissions.
If you can't get proper root permissions through a quick root, then build CWM and root through CWM. See tutorials section for how to build CWM.

If you root using VROOT (it is Chinese Superuser without busybox but with a very large Chinese "su" binary and Americano app like RootCheckerPro/Free version will report a false "negative" since it doent recognise the Superuser and Chinese "su".
If I were you the best test is to use either RootExploer since it requires "root" access and if successfully let you maneuver through the root folder and do a little bit of reading and editing that is good enough sign that you have root access.
I use VROOT to for new devices without root method and only later after dumping the ROM can I prepare a prerooted firmware with SuperSU plus busybox.
As we progresses with MT6592/65Xx they all fall into the category of wanting to put on KitKat Android. Do you ALL realise that a JB version rooted firmware worked flawlessly on the same device but when upgraded to KitKat it is not 100%.
I have experience the changing of CWM rec. for my PiPo M9Pro from a "JB" version to "KK" version even or else it will not restore your backup (if you successfully get it to backup in first place).
Then if you want to flash SuperSU update.zip (after getting your hands on a working TWRP/CWM , (I prefer TWRP) it will flash successfully but all the permission for "su" "sudaemon" binary will be "rw-wr-wr" instead of "rw-sr-sr" and if you are unlucky enough the busybox doesnt symlink the only option is copy the whole /xbin/ content folder (called permanent root) into the device. People like me can afford the time (developing ROMs) flashing after reflashing 2 on 4 times a day for the next 3 months.
But what about end users who just wants a rooted phone?
But I am telling youall KitKat has broken the root process even CHAINFIRE says so he has updated to SuperSU 2.01 to try to circumvent this problem but no luck so far.

If you've tried all 8 quick roots and none of them work, then you need to build CWM and install root through CWM. See the tutorial section for how to build CWM without root.
