[Question] Coolpad 9976a Halo?

Ha,ha. I see someone else has the big screen addiction. I have not tried this phone but am very curious about it. I was also looking at the Ulefone U7 but specifically the Carpad T69 max, both with 7"dispays. When you get it please post your opinions on it including things like how the battery handles the huge screen and how manageable/comfortable does it feel during use.
And if anyone has tried this phone please feel free to jump in here and add your thoughts, this forum is very friendly as well as informative.

Thanks lookylooky for your reply. I was actually waiting for iocean X8 or G7 but they are delayed. I couldn't wait anymore so I decided to buy another big screen. I settled on this as it has gorilla glass which is one of my requirements.

Yep. Same lookylooky but I don't really visit there anymore. Chinaphonearena is my new home. I find it far more active with better content....that's just my opinion though.

I was also really looking forward to the new Ioceans but it seems they've stayed with history and only released them with 900/2100 WCDMA. Unfortunately I'm on a 3G network with no GSM backup, so I need at least 850 or I don't have a signal. I was all set to get a G7 but it was not meant to be.

I been playing around with the coolpad 9976a for about a week now. Everything about it is amazing especially the music app which allows me to download free songs while I listen to them, cool feature! The build feature feels very solid and looks like a cross between a note 3 and iphone 5 but bigger of course. I brought it from aliexpress for about $340 with free 7 days express shipping but now the same seller has risen the price lol.

The only negative I can say about it is that I can't install google play store and don't know how to root it. It's my first time rooting so if someone can kindly guild me I'll appreciate it very much! Thanks in advance!

I second that question. Battery life with that size screen is one of my concerns. How is the standby but more importantly how is the on screen time? I noticed a dual LED flash on the back. Is that actually giving you the extra needed light in dim conditions?

Also, something of potential interest is many sites are saying this phone is 850/900/1900/2100 WCDMA. If any of the current and future owners are in a certain frequency only zone, maybe they can post it here and we can assemble the facts.

I got about 7-8 hours screen time with brightness on 1/3 and no sim card used. So on mix use it show last you the whole day.

In my country Malaysia:
Works well on 2G/3G Network - Maxis, Digi & Celcom. Only sometimes frequent signal drop most prob software issue i think...
