[Question] Bootloop on Desire 310 - any way to fix it?
#1
Sad
Today i tried to add CWM to my desire 310.

Tools used:
SP Flash Tool
MTK Droid Tools
CWM Magic

i basically followed [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] guide to add cwm to it. However, the whole process showed no errors, the phone was rooted before as needed and i just did what the process told me to. After the process finished with a success-message, the phone rebooted. At that point i just got bootloops right after the htc bootlogo shows up. when plugging in the phone, it still shows the preloader (with drivers!) in the device manager for ~ 2 seconds, so i tried [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] guide to unbrick it.
It simply doesn't work. all i get is a message Saying: "BROM ERROR: S_BROM_DOWNLOAD_DA_FAIL (2004)
[H/W] Fail to download DA to baseband chips internal SRAM!"

Does anyone know how i can recover my device to a usable state from here?
Neither vol+ + power nor vol- + power let me get anywhere, battery in or out doesn't make any difference when trying to recover it.
If you need any further information to assist me, let me know. thanks!

Are you flashing a backup you made? Are you restarting flashtool each time? unplug replug in phone, remove battery replace battery?

Yes, it's a backup i created before trying to apply a custom recovery.
I always get this error, no matter if i partly select options (for example just recovery to have something to start with), which driver, which version, multiple tries within an opened programm, closing it and "freshly" hit download to start the process, with battery in my phone, without, with auto-settings in SP, with battery-setting, without battery-setting... nothing matters. besides that, i don't get into meta mode. all i get is the preloader and it just shows up when i connect the phone and press vol- when the battery is removed.
Tried different things... vol+ while/before connecting the cable does nothing,
samre for vol+ + on
vol- while/before connecting gives me the preloader for 1-5 secs
vol- + on does the same
hitting all 3 buttons does nothing.

feels like the desire is just not compatible with the current drivers/SP Flash. there is nearly no recommendation about that 2004 error nor the SRAM-stuff thats related to it. all i know is that i need to get this fixed if i want to set my phone back into an usable state.

if there is no solution to get rid of that error, finding the service point might be the last possible option to get this thing fixed, but i don't know yet how to find and how to connect it and i'd really like to fix it by solving the error than disassembling a brand new phone, losing all warranty for it and possibly brick it completely ^^

I don't know on my phones I use format all + download option in drop down box, I am a Linux guy, so don't know if that would help you or not, works just fine on my mtk6582 and mtk6592 phones.

I use a very old outdated XP to run flashing tool, don't know if that matters or not either.

maybe. havent tried linux/xp yet
are there any linux tools/drivers to get it done there?
if it's win7/8 related and running, for example, ubuntu (got a stick around here ready to plug in and boot) would be a solution with proper tools, i'd try it.
however, i don't have any XP-copies anymore

well if you can adb into your phone, you should be able to, you could flash your stock recovery via adb or use adb to boot into recovery, if recovery is working that is.

I have posted how to flash recovery via adb on this forum, I got to go but a quick search for it should find it, or just look at my posts til you find it, either way if your problem is just recovery, flashing stock recovery should fix your problem.

well.. i guess i'd have to reach factory mode to flash through adb.. if that's the case, i won't even be able to do that. for now, my phone is just a brick with a fancy white htc logo, which can be used for ~ 10 seconds as a flashlight Big Grin

If phone is rooted, no need to get to factory mode, the phone should respond in it's current state to adb commands, have you tried to communicate with phone via adb?

not yet. i expected that this wouldn't lead to anything because it doesn't do anything than showing the preloader for some seconds, besides giving bootloops with battery inserted. how can i use adb?
