Okay, but wont it just say that it is rooted, since it comes from the factory rooted, or is that only on GooPhone?

Run root checker from Play. If it says you're rooted, you're rooted.

The ROM on needroms works. Actually it has saved my hide many times.
It will flash you back to factory stock (unrooted) ROM.
I would suggest downloading it and SP Flash Tools.
I have the same phone. Great phone but there is VERY limited support in term of custom ROM development.
Rooting the phone does allow you to remove many of the Chinese Apps but they are not that intrusive and a safer option would be to install a third party launcher.
That way google becomes your default search etc.
If you want to customise your phone, again, custom launchers are the way to go.
My two favourites for this phone are Yandex.Shell and Smart Launcher.
DO NOT flash any other ROM. I did and my phone is now semi-bricked.

Cant I just do a Factory Reset from the HTC Recovery, instead of installing that ROM?
Cause to be honest, I dont kinda trust it, and dont wanna brick my phone

No one I know of has ever bricked using the easy ADB roots, and it's far safer than flashing firmware.. Flashing firmware should be your last option in regards to your issues... Especially firmware that has bricked people. There are a couple of new ADB root options as well.
Sure you can factory reset Northstar. I'd have done that anyways. Something else I'd do anyways, is install a custom launcher as Mayhem suggested. Apex, Nova are good options.
What's the point of owning Android if you're not rooted? Might as well have an iPhone. I'd root regardless of the Chinese app and keyboard issues. But you didn't report back on if you tried the keyboard suggestions yet.... So maybe I'm wasting breath here. Time for talk is done Northstate. Man up and take some action.

Rooting went fine.
Installing CWM went fine.
The ROM on needroms is a slightly 'cleaner' version of the ROM that was supplied with my phone (got mine from android-sale.com).
You can factory reset but flashing the ROM from needroms will take you back to pre-root and remove CWM (if flashed).
I rooted to install LMT launcher and get ride of the Chinese Apps.
Everything was going well until I tried to make my own custom ROM and flashed it using CWM. It's now stuck in a boot loop and I can't re-flash the needrom ROM.

Mayhem, did you root with a quick root or via CWM? Can you upload the CWM and scatter you used? Preferably to a real file sharer like ge.tt or box.

I rooted using the quick root (but had to push the exploit manually as I am on OSX) and later (after flashing stock ROM) using MTK Toolkit.
Unfortunately my phone managed to destroy my Windows Virtual Machine and I had to re-install Windows (using VMWare) which wiped everything.
If I get it working again I will!

Damn, dude. You're having all sorts of bad luck.
Anyways, now Northstate knows he'll be able to root with one of the ADB quickies. Thanks for the heads up.
